Sydney Airport (SYD) is served by many regular public buses operated by Airport Express. Travelling from the airport's Domestic and International Terminal buildings to central Sydney and other nearby towns. Buses at Sydney Airport run daily between 05:00 to 23:00 and are an inexpensive and useful way to travel into the city. The buses are gold and green, and use the following fixed routes when traveling into Sydney:- SYD Airport Route 300 - travels from the airport into Sydney City, to the Central Station
- SYD Airport Route 350 - travels from the airport to Kings Cross, Potts Point and Elizabeth Bay
Travel by Shuttle Buses
Shuttle buses are also available at Sydney airport and are operated by Kingsford Smith Transport and Sydney Airporter. The shuttle buses travel to many of the hotels in central Sydney and also the Kings Cross and Harbour areas of Sydney. There are also other shuttle buses services that travel further afield, although these need to be booked in advance.
Travel by Hotel Shuttle
Many Sydney hotels also offer a door-to-door courtesy shuttle bus services for their guests, traveling from Sydney airport, directly to the hotel from outside of the airport's passenger buildings.
Travel by Taxi Cabs
Taxis are readily available at Sydney Airport (SYD) outside each of the airport's terminal buildings, in the taxi rank areas. They provide a convenient and easy way to travel into nearby Sydney city and other destinations. The journey from Sydney Airport into central Sydney will take around 25 minutes, depending on traffic. Official Sydney SYD airport taxi cabs should be used at all times to ensure safety and also to avoid being overcharged.
The airport taxi meters in Sydney start at a basic fare, but additional charges are usually made for luggage, late-night driving and travel on public holidays in Sydney, so it can prove useful to ask the taxi driver about these before leaving. Some Sydney Airport taxis are happy to accept credit cards. Taxis for disabled passengers with wheelchairs, or other special taxi requirements, can be arranged at the arrival hall in the airport's International Terminal T1.
Travel by Limousines
There are a wide selection of private car limousine companies available at Sydney Airport (SYD) directly outside of the airport's terminals and these provide the perfect way to travel in style to your Sydney hotel. Limousine services operate to and from Sydney SYD Airport and can be leased at an hourly rate if required, although minimum charges may apply. The limousines can be booked in advance or from the airport's Ground Transportation Information counters.
